Hello friends,
Welcome to my Blog. See that handsome devil up there, that’s me! My name is Sean Harris and I am
an Assistant Director of Studies at the International Language Academy of Canada.
A little about me. I have been involved in education from the time that I first started pre-school…that was
my funny joke…neat eh?
In all seriousness though I started my path in education in 2008 where after graduating from
Laurentian University I decided to get almost as far away from Canada as I could without coming closer.
The globe that I had access to showed this spot as being South Korea. In fairness geography was never
my strong point.
I started my career in ESL as a guest English teacher at the Seoul English Village and have been
involved in the ESL world ever since.
It has taken me to Scotland, Poland, Abu Dhabi, South Africa, Hong Kong, and finally here to
Vancouver.
I am writing this blog for two reasons;
1. It is a requirement for one of my professional instructor diploma courses.
2. To serve as an online repository for interesting things I find related to adult and ESL education.
If you are interested in learning more about the PID program please see the below two links.

Hope you all enjoy this blog. I will do my best to keep it relevant, but also humorous. After all, education
should be joyful.
